The Southern Shellfish Training Centre (SSTC) was established in July 2009. This Training Centre is a Seafish Approved Training Provider and delivers a range of Seafish/REHIS accredited courses to industry, regulatory and support organisations regarding depuration/purification of bivalve molluscs. ASL also offer specialist training to the aquaculture industry in how to optimise mussel seed settlement focussing on D-larvae identification and collection methods. This ‘D-Day’ course was developed in association with BIM in Ireland.
